Montly Mission Focus
Our missionary focus for the month of May was the Nehemiah Project.  The Nehemiah Project is based on Nehemiah 13:31- "Remember me with favor, O my God."  The Nehemiah Project is church planting.  It is a cooperative effort between the North American Mission Board and select colleges, seminaries and a Church Planter Intern.  The greatest characteristic of a Church Planter Intern is a passion for reaching people for Christ and the ability to congregationalize the results.  The Nehemiah Project offers student interns practical training along with sound modeling and mentoring.  Every student in the Nehemiah Project will be mentored by an experienced church planting missionary.

The Southern Baptist Convention has 6 seminary campuses plus the Seminary Extension, which is a joint venture of alll the seminaries, to build future leaders for the Southern Baptist Churches.  Please pray for these students as they prepare to follow God's call into service.  Pray that the pressures of courses and papers do not overwhelm them.  Pray that even now, God is preparing a place of ministry for them so when they graduate they can step right into the place of service God has planned for them.

The Theological Seminaries of the Southern Baptist Convention are:

  •        -Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary (Mill Valley, California (San Francisco area); 1,972 students)
  •        -Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (Kansas City, Missouri; 752 students)
  •        -New Orleans, Louisiana (1,542 students)
